75 Years of Supporting Our Members:
Dominic Madamba & Mae Simon
Members since 2009.
Mae Simon and Dominic Madamba first met in school nearly 12 years ago and have been together ever since. Dominic, an employee of the Honolulu County, proposed to Mae, a registered nurse, in June of 2010 and they soon began planning their lives together. Knowing that their credit union was a prime informational resource, they came to the Main Branch and talked to financial service specialist Julie Kojima who walked them through the process of applying for a mortgage loan. This being their first home purchase, Mae and Dominic had many questions and were very appreciative that Julie took the time to explain everything that was going to happen throughout the application, approval, and closing process. Mae and Dominic enjoy banking with Hawaii State FCU because of “the excellent customer service and competitive rates, the professional and personable employees, and because it allowed us to buy our first home!”
Providing our members with the means to own homes has been one of the cornerstones of our institution for decades. We have supported our members for 75 years and will be there for many more!
Spreading Holiday Cheer for 16 Years
In addition to our 75th anniversary, 2011 also marks the 16th anniversary of our Cheer on Wheels program. Each holiday season for the past 16 years, Hawaii State FCU employees, volunteers, friends, and family members have brought holiday cheer to seniors in the community by providing them with food, supplies, and household items. In 2008 we expanded the program to include the patients at the Leahi Hospital in Kaimuki and in 2009 to include the Kula Hospital on Maui. As our credit union continues to grow, we look forward to bringing more joy to more of our kupuna for many years to come. This program of course would not be possible without the generous donations and support from our members. Thank you to everyone for your support of this wonderful program.
