Not all of the credit union’s efforts are focused on members. Hawaii State FCU’s service to the community and our active participation in charitable events are just as important. Alzheimer's Association, Hawaii 3Rs, Children’s Miracle Network, Men’s March Against Violence, American Cancer Society, American Heart Association, Committee For Citizens Awareness, Hawaii Homeownership Center, Hawaii Children’s Cancer Foundation, Leahi Hospital and the state Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs’ LifeSmarts Competition are just a few of the organizations that we’ve supported over the years.
Cheer On Wheels
Hawaii State FCU’s signature event! Every year around the holidays, with the help from members and credit union staff, we deliver food and much needed holiday cheer to homebound senior citizens living in our community. Members are invited to donate non-perishable food items, toiletries and sundries at each of our branches. Next time you visit a branch around the holidays, bring an item to donate; your selfless contribution will undoubtedly go a long way in making the season bright for a senior citizen.
Hawaii State FCU knows how important education is, which is why we welcome any opportunity to aid Hawaii's schools. In 2010, HSFCU in conjunction with Hawaii 3Rs, took part in community service projects at Mililani High School and Salt Lake Elementary School. At Millilani High School, more than 50 employees and their familes volunteered to re-paint the football stadium bleachers. At Salt Lake Elementary more than 20 volunteers re-painted the school's parking lot.
Kapolei Rotary Club School Supply Drive
For the past few years, Hawaii State FCU has donated school supplies to the Kapolei Rotary Club's annual school supply drive, which distributes necessary items like pencils, paper, backpacks and more to children in need.
