Since our founding in 1936, Hawaii State FCU has upheld the Credit Union motto of “People Helping People”. Through a variety of programs and services, we have supported our members and our community.


2010 Hawaii State FCU Scholarship Recipients Culten Arroyo & Monica Aguilar.

Scholarship:  Since 1995 Hawaii State FCU has awarded over $359,000 in scholarships to 195 deserving students. All Hawaii State FCU members and their dependents are eligible to apply.

Loyalty Rewards:  Rewarding our members for their loyalty, Hawaii State FCU has given $65,000 to members since 2007 through a drawing held every October. All members of Hawaii State FCU are eligible to enter the drawing with prize amounts determined by the length of membership.


Interest Rebates:  Hawaii State FCU is one of the few credit unions in the country that pays bonus dividends on member’s savings accounts and interest rebates on member’s loans. Since 1996, $39.5 million has been returned to members and in 2010, $2 million was returned to members.

Hawaii State FCU 2011 Walk to End Alzheimers Team

Alzheimer’s Association:  In 2011, Hawaii State FCU raised more than $15,500 for the Alzheimer’s Association Aloha Chapter through grassroots fundraising efforts. The donation was the largest single donation received from an individual organization and Hawaii State FCU's "Walk to End Alzheimer's" team was the largest team to participate in the walk, with over 150 walkers!

Cheer on Wheels:  Every Holiday season since 1995, Hawaii State FCU employees visit senior citizens and distribute Cheer on Wheels bags filled with food and hygiene products. In 2010, 240 Cheer on Wheels bags were distributed to Senior Citizens in Pearl City, Kaneohe, and Kaka’ako and 310 fleece socks were given to residents of Leahi Hospital and Kula Hospital. Since 2004, 1,341 senior citizens have received over 16,000 lbs of food.

Hawaii 3R’s:  The organization was formed in 2001 due to a new initiative to Repair, Remodel, & Restore Hawaii’s public schools. 54 Hawaii State FCU employees and their family members participated in the repainting of the Mililani High School bleachers in October 2010. 


Kapolei Rotary Club School Supply Drive:  Since 2009, Hawaii State FCU has been the primary sponsor of the Kapolei Rotary Club's annual school supply drive, which benefits West Oahu schools and children.

Financial Education:  Hawaii State FCU Financial Educator, Karen Ho, provides a variety of free presentations to students and organizations. Since 2006, Karen has conducted 567 presentations to 17,493 people in the community. Financial Education presentations cover a wide range of financial topics including:

  • Don’t Be a Victim of Elder Financial Abuse
  • Getting Trapped by Credit Pitfalls
  • Ace Your Job Interview
  • Starting a Small Business
